President and Sister Pugsley

The Pugsleys served as Mission President and wife of the England Bristol Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1991-1994. The Pugsleys are from Salt Lake City, Utah, where Pres. Pugsley practiced law prior to their mission.

Pres. Pugsley assigned Sis. Noorlander to work in the mission office, where she was in charge of missionary flats (apartments). In addition to inspecting the flats, she handled communication between the landlords and the mission. The missionaries used to call her “Sister Pick-up, Hang-up, and Wipe-up.“

Dear Sister Noorlander,

I wanted to write a note to tell you how much we love and appreciate you. Your work in the office is efficient and you are always happy and helpful. Your zone conference remarks were perfect.

Your dedicated service at this stage of your life is a wonderful example to all of us. We truly value our friendship with you.

Love,
Pres. Pugsley

Dear Sister Noorlander,

After 10 days in the field, I know that you are settling down and I’m praying that you are continuing to work on the discussions and on gospel study each day. If ou do this diligently, your mission will be so much more meaningful to you as the months go by.

Sister Jones joins me in sending love and good wishes.

Sincerely,

George H. Jones
